Coupon Craziness

I only did one coupon stop this week as my in-laws are in town and we are going away this weekend for a graduation and a baptism.    No pics, sorry.

I just got 3 boxes of cereal.

3/$10 – a $1.50/2 IP and a $1/1 IP = $7.50 – $3 RR = $4.50/3 or $1.50 each.   Not NEAR as cool as my $0.80/box from Meijers!   But better cereal so it’s a tradeoff.

How did you do?

Coupon Craziness 10

This week was one of those weeks where a deal at Walgreens was so good, I went out of my way to do it. A lot. I made 3 trips Tuesday alone.

photo13

I got:
2 trial sized Johnson body washes – $0.99 – $1/1 Q = FREE
4 edge shave gels – $2.99 – $3RR = FREE
4 Chapstick’s – $1.99 – $2RR = FREE

2 Russell Stover Easter Bunnies – 2/$3

And a Physicians Formula Organic bronzer & blush combo with free lip gloss – $13.99 – $1/1Q – $10EasySaver rebate = $2.99 — well less than that because I get a 10% premium for getting a Walgreens card instead of a check.

Total Regular Price of all transactions:   $49.07

Total Sale Price of all transactions:   $38.89

Less Coupons Used:  $2.98

Total OOP:  $35.91

Less MIR:  $10.00

Less RR earned:  $20.00

Total cost for all 4 trips:  $5.91

Savings – 88%!!!

As always, I could have done something differently but my thoughts are always just to scattered.   If I had been thinking, I would have bought shave gel & chapstick, producing $5 RR between the two and rolled that into the makeup for the next transaction.   I also could have split the shave gel & chapstick from the bunnies and rolled $3 RR into that.   But I didn’t really have the time.   I’m pretty sure that they shouldn’t have been rolled to buy the same thing and frankly didn’t feel like taking the chance that a coupon wouldn’t produce when using the coupon in the transaction.

I also determined that if you aren’t dedicated to playing the Walgreens game regularly, you shouldn’t bother.   I found an expired $10RR from the huggies deal last month.   If I’d found it a few days earlier, I’d have been okay.  Sigh.

How did you do?    Any fun deals or freebies?    Share in the comments!!

Coupon Craziness 9

I didn’t bother to post last week, but I got in on the Huggies diaper deal at Walgreens and also picked up some freebies (colgate & some shampoo, I think) for our church’s food pantry.

This week, I had high hopes.  I need to quit doing that!    I want to know where Deal Seeking Mom and Centsible Sawyer live to have the prices they have on stuff at Walmart.   Up here (and Florida, too), the deals were typically twice what those sites said could be gotten.    Made some of the freebies not so free.   So I only did so-so.

(I just got a replacement iPhone & haven’t fixed all my settings yet so no pic, sorry)

40 ct Gallon Ziplock storage bags – $3.00 – $0.75/1 Q = $2.25

30 ct Gallon Ziplock Freezer Bag – $3.00 – $0.75/1Q = $2.25

2 – 50 ct Quart Ziplock storage bags – $3.00 each – $1.50/2Q = $2.25 each

2 – 16 ct Kotex Pantyliners – $1.00 – $0.75/1Q = $0.25 each

3 – mentos gum – $1.28 – $1/1Q = $0.28 each (I had a 4th and bought it but she only scanned 3 of the coupons so I have to take one back.)

2 – Extra Gum – $0.96 – BOGO Q = $0.48 each

3 – Wrigleys Gum – $0.96 – FREE Q = FREE

Total Price – $22.64

Less Coupons – $11.34

Total OOP – $11.30

Savings – 50%!!

I also went to Walgreens to try to get in on the Dove Deal, but someone beat me to it.  Plus, here the bars are $1.39 not $1.04 which doesn’t make them as good of a deal anyway.   What I DID get was:

2 – Trident Extra Care – 2/$2 – (2) $0.75 = $0.25 each.

Since I’ve pretty well stocked the pantry in 2 huge Meijer’s trips (and blown the budget out of the water!), I just picked up some deals this week.   I bought (at Meijer)

8 seed packets (buy 3, get 1) – $0.92 each (reg. 1.19-1.29)

Lysol 4-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner – $1.74 – $0.75/1Q – $1MIR = $0.01 MM!!

Lysol Toilet Cleaner – $1.42 – $0.75/1Q – $1MIR = $0.30 MM!!!

Lysol Disinfecting Wipes – $2.59 – $1/1Q – $1MIR = $0.59

Part of 10/$10 + 1 free

3 boxes of Betty Crocker Potatoes- $1.00 each – $0.40/1 and $1/2 Q’s = $0.53 each

3 boxes of Green Giant Frozen veggies – $1.00 each – $1/3Q = $0.66 each

5 bags (1 lb.) baby carrots – $1.00 each – 1 free = $0.80 each

Total Sale Price – $36.26

Less Coupons – $4.90

Total OOP – $18.19

Less MIR – $3.00

Total Trip Cost – $15.19

Savings – 63%!!
